CEBIT—HANOVER, GERMANY—MARCH 13, 2003—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual processing solutions, today introduced the NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX Go series, the industry’s first family of DirectX 9.0-class mobile graphics processing units (GPUs).
Designed to bring cinematic computing and unprecedented video capabilities to notebook PCs, the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5600 and Go5200 GPUs deliver state-of-the-art 3D graphics performance and uncompromised DVD playback for demanding notebook users. This new family of mobile GPUs will be on display at CeBit 2003, in Hannover, Germany.

“NVIDIA is committed to bringing cinematic computing to the masses,” stated Jen-Hsun Huang, president and CEO at NVIDIA. “A week ago, we announced DirectX 9.0-class graphics for the entire desktop PC segment. With the introduction of the GeForce FX Go series, we intend to take theater-quality, Hollywood-style real time cinematic effects to the notebook segment.”

“Notebook computers are now legitimate and welcome personal entertainment devices,” said Dr. Jon Peddie, President of Jon Peddie Research, the leading multimedia market research firm. “Gaming, the biggest hurdle to pass, was captured with the introduction of the GeForce FX Go, and places the notebook as a central platform in the consumer electronics environment. Our research indicates this market will reach tens of millions of units by the end of 2004 as consumers and road warriors become more mobile.”
Joining the award-winning desktop GeForce FX GPUs, these two new mobile GPUs share the same cinematic computing feature set, including CineFX™ architecture with advanced vertex and pixel shaders for stunning special effects. In addition, the GeForce FX family of mobile GPUs provides NVIDIA’s famous compatibility and reliability via the Company’s patented Unified Driver Architecture (UDA). These new mobile processors also include NVIDIA PowerMizer™ 2.0 technology for advanced dynamic power and battery management. The combination of low power, high performance and rock solid stability provides users with the perfect mobile entertainment platform.
Available in April 2003, the NVIDIA GeForce FX Go series is seeing strong early market acceptance from the world’s leading notebook OEMs and ODMs. Toshiba Computer System’s Group will be one of the first partners to announce notebook solutions including the GeForce FX Go GPUs.
