<p>AMD ha annunciato uffialmente il nuovo FX-60, il suo nuovo processore al top della gamma. Il processore è un dual-core con frequenza di 2.6GHz.</p>
<p>Rispetto al fx-57 a single-core a 2.8GHz, AMD ha quindi fatto un cambio di rotta, riducendo la frequenza di 200MHz ma raddoppiando il numero di core fisici. L'Athlon 64 FX-57, con i suoi 2.8GHz di frequenza, rimane comunque in commercio a 827 dollari.</p>
<p>Fx-60 è identico agli Athlon 64 dual core già presenti sul mercato, quindi presenta un bus a 1GHz, 2x1MB di cache L2, controller DDR400 dual-channel, Socket 939 e processo produttivo a 0.09 micron. Per quanto riguarda la dissipazione termica conserva il valore massimo (TDP) di 110W dei modelli X2; pertanto è possibile abbinarlo ai comuni dissipatori per processori Athlon 64 X2 4800+.<br />

<p>Il prezzo dei processori venduti a lotti di 1000 è di 1031 dollari, quindi il prezzo al consumatore finale subirà sicuramente un rialzo.</p>

a parte il costo esorbitante, quello che impressiona è come oramai il dual core venga proposto in una fascia di mercato destinata ai videogiocatori. non so se avete visto alcuni bench su game, si nota come si siano fatti passi da gigante verso il dual.
