PC players around the world were mostly caught by surprise on the unexpected merging of AMD and ATI. The first thing that probably popped up their minds was how much advantages and benefits this mergence would bring the avid gamers and enthusiast. However, I believe what actually concerns them most is how much performance increase this is going to bring into future motherboards. The launching of DFI’s INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G should probably provide a satisfactory answer.

Without a doubt, the emergence of INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G proved bringing together the brand new AM2 platform and the high performance ATI RD580 chipset was indeed another breakthrough by these technology giants who has helped made DFI’s enthusiast-oriented motherboard a success.

Although INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G is so far the most high-end product among the INFINITY motherboards, it carries an astonishing cost-efficient price value – an opportunity widely embraced by both gamers and enthusiasts. The professional gaming board supports full dual x16 PCIe slots providing powerful CrossFire environment. It has always been DFI’s goal to load its motherboards with superb features and benefits. The motherboard’s unique design easily scored more than 10000 while running a lab test. Such a high score OC performance only proved we tried our best not to disappoint OC enthusiasts.

Recent media reports predicted that ATI will soon launch it’s high-end X1950 Pro graphics card at a cost-effective level. By then, it would be a great match with INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G as both comes with powerful performance at a very affordable price. This is something to look forward to. INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G is definitely the motherboard that edges out the rest.

Crossfire Technology Support
With two spec-compliant VGA cards inserted into two PCI Express x16 slots, and with VGA card driver correctly installed, the frame-by-frame speed of the graphics will achieve 2 times of a single VGA card. The assembling process is quite simple, and that's the Crossfire technology offered by RD580 chipset. Crossfire has 3 modes of 3D rendering: super tile mode, scissor mode, Alternate Frame Rendering Mode. With these modes, the performing speed of the games will be increased. The anti-aliasing effect is more apparent and the graphic display quality is accordingly raised. In addition to crossfire technology supporting, PCIE x16 slots on the DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard also supports x16 full-speed operation.
Supports DDR2-800 Memory
Compare to DDRI, the merit of DDRII is so obviously, such as, DDRII has a higher frequency, a higher speed bandwidth and better ability for overclocking. About motherboard itself, only supports DDRII-533/ 667 is not enough for an ideal overclocking performance. DDRII 800 is a milestone for a better OC performance. That is why DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G supports DDRII 800.
Plentiful CPU power supply
Most of enthusiasts care about the design of CPU’s PWM when the choosing a board for overclocking, the reason is clear: CPU needs higher power consumption to let the itself running in a faster clocking while it overclocked. If the design of PWM is not qualify enough, the stability of the system will be affected. Moreover, another reason that enthusiast care about the PWM is: It will need more power consumption while a “high-performance” CPU is in use.
That means it will be a double impact of power consumption when a “high-performance” CPU is in overclocking.
Although, INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G adopt the traditional 3 phase PWM for supplying CPU’s power, but the design that allows each phase to offer almost up to 40A power for CPU’s power consumption.

First-of-the-industry to adopts Ceramic heat sink
DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G adopts the same ceramic heat sink solution as INFINITY 975X. Due to the new technology of heat conduction material, this has a better performance than aluminum and copper.

Including eSATA ports
Nowadays, accompanied by the non-stopping development of portable storage technologies, the capacity of portable storage devices is expanding constantly. As for portable storage devices relying on USB ports, however, while the capacity is still limited, the expensive price is indeed the lethal weakness. Nonetheless, this embarrassing situation has been apparently improved since the emergence of eSATA port technology. eSATA port is an external SATA II standard that supports hot-plug feature. With eSATA port technology, portable storage devices can be connected easily, and the RAID function can be turned on. Moreover, eSATA port has a very high data transferring speed which is 6 times the transferring speed of USB2.0 or IEEE1394. Doubtless, the convenience that eSATA port technology contributes to game enthusiasts is inestimable. For example, let's say an enthusiast owns two computers at studio and at home. Apparently, common USB disks are not adequate to move large amounts of DVD format video files or game programs between these two computers. At the present circumstance, if the motherboard owns an eSATA port, only a HDD is enough to easily move the data. The cost is saved by its convenience, and no requirement for additional expenditure for purchasing dedicated large capacity portable HDD.

RAID Function
The existence of RAID function makes the storage more efficient and secure on the HDD. DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard supports RAID building on Serial ATA, and supports three RAID levels: RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 0+1.
Various types of ports
There are various types of ports on DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard. For game enthusiasts, connecting more peripherals often means occupying more USB ports. No worries, DFI INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard offers up to 10 USB ports for game enthusiasts, and it is absolutely sufficient for the USB connection requirements. In addition, this motherboard also owns one LAN port, two IEEE 1394 ports, one parallel port, one coaxial SPDIF-out port and one optical fiber SPDIF-out port. Various types of ports designed are sufficient for anybody!
Outstanding Cost vs. Performance
This product is orientated to offer Crossfire technology-realizable motherboard to midrange game players or enthusiasts, thus the price of INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard is moderate. To buy an INFINITY CFX3200-M2/G motherboard with a reasonable price, and to realize Crossfire graphic technology, such cost-effective product is quite attractive.
