NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced that it has shipped more than 750,000 NVIDIA nForce™4 SLI media and communication processors (MCPs) for the AMD64 market in the past five months.

Additionally, NVIDIA has started shipping its newly-announced NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Intel Edition MCPs designed for Intel Pentium 4 processors, including the upcoming dual-core Intel Pentium processor Extreme Edition and Pentium D processors. These MCPs have been hailed as “the best Pentium core logic product out there” by Tom’s Hardware Guide (http://www.tomshardware.com) and “the fastest Pentium 4 platform” by PC Perspective (http://www.pcperspective.com).

NVIDIA SLI has effectively created a new category in the enthusiast PC space. Building on the momentum, NVIDIA has:

· Launched http://it.slizone.com, a Web site dedicated to the SLI community

· Expanded the SLI technology certification program for partners

“NVIDIA’s innovative SLI technology has really captured the imagination of the gaming community,” says Elan Raja III, director of Scan UK. “Our customers are demanding NVIDIA nForce4 SLI MCPs at the heart of their systems because they know that, coupled with two high end NVIDIA GeForce™ 6 graphics chips, they will get a set-up which far outperforms anything else on the market today – and tomorrow as well, come to that.”

To support the growing number of users embracing SLI technology, NVIDIA has launched a new Web site dedicated to SLI technology and its users. Complementing the popular NVIDIA nZone Web site (http://www.nvidia.it/sli/), the new SLIzone Web site (http://it.slizone.com) provides information on SLI technology including news, system builder information, tutorials, reviews, certifications, contests and much more.

SLIzone.com

“SLI is a ‘must-have’ feature for PC enthusiasts. We encourage them to check out SLIzone, which contains information on where to buy – or how to build – a mind-blowing SLI PC,” added Ujesh Desai, general manger of desktop products at NVIDIA.

Certification Program

In addition, NVIDIA continues to bring stability, reliability and support to this new platform through the NVIDIA SLI certification program. This program, which includes add-in cards, motherboards, power supplies and computer systems for use with NVIDIA SLI technology, has expanded over the last 30 days. Over 80 products, including more than 30 graphics cards, six motherboards, and four power supplies have received certification under this program, with more products being added weekly. In addition, over 40 system builders worldwide are offering SLI technology–certified systems.

Awards

SLI technology-related products have won major awards worldwide, including 3D Italia Best Hardware, CNET Next Big Thing, CustomPC Premium Upgrade, Extremetech Approved, FiringSquad.com Bull’s Eye Award, FiringSquad.com Editor’s Choice, HardOCP Must Have Hardware, Hardware-Mag Editor’s Choice, HardwareZone.com Most Innovative Product, Hexus Extreme Editor’s Choice, IN4.com Best Buy, PC Ekspert Editor’s Choice, PC Pro Recommended, MaximumPC Kick Ass Product Award, MaximumPC Gear of the Year, PCDiy!
