<p>AMD, confortata dal aver dato filo da torcere alla rivale storica Intel, facedogli ottenere un risultato a dir poco pessimo, con un crollo del profitto del 35%, ha ufficialmente annunciato la morte del socket 939.</p>
<p>Advance Micro Device prevede infatti che entro la fine dell'anno la totalità dei processori prodotti all'interno delle proprie fabbriche sarà del tipo Socket AM2, fatta eccezione per una quota residua del 5% in processori Socket 754. </p>
