<br><br>“Public SPEC results confirm what we’ve claimed all along,” said Marty Seyer, vice president and general manager of AMD’s Microprocessor Business Unit. “AMD Opteron is the highest performing processor for 2P and 4P servers, providing our customers with breakout performance in 64-bit computing while protecting their investments in 32-bit applications and programs.” <br>
On the SPEC benchmark tests, which are considered among the most important for servers, the AMD Opteron processor achieved scores that were up to 144 percent greater* than competing 32-bit server processors and 43 percent higher performing** than servers based on competing 64-bit processors. <br>
