The Tomcat K8S (S2850) has many valuable features. The platform has an onboard ATI® RAGE™ XL graphics controller which produces richer graphics, dual Gigabit Ethernet LANs for high bandwidth, integrated four-channel Serial ATA support for maximum storage, and six PCI slots for expandability – all in an ATX form factor. A second version, offering on-board RAID is available for those, who are looking for higher data security. In addition, the platform achieves maximum bandwidth and low latency through the Opteron™ HyperTransport™ technology and integrated memory controller. Four memory slots can be used to add up to 8GB registered DDR333 (PC2700) with or without ECC. As an alternative, registered DDR200/266 (PC1600/2100) can be used.<p>
