Il chipset è il Via KT880, progettato per contrastare la supremazia di nVidia che, con l'nForce2, detiene il titolo di piattaforma più performante per processori Athlon. La novità sostanziale del nuovo chip è nell'implementazione del dual-channel per le ram come per il rivale nForce2.<p>
