The new World from TerraTec: DigitalRadio DR 1000
Full-bodied, noise-free sound from the airwaves, can only be heard from digital! DR 1000, the DAB receiver of the newest generation, cuts a remarkably elegant figure with its stylish housing, with shiny blue display and pure aluminum front. Featuring a radio sound of unheard-of dynamics and roomy transparency, it offers the audiophile's ear the fitting acoustic experience. Even those who want to experience their beloved FM station until the bitter end (of analog) will be well served by choosing the DR 1000: thanks to an uncompromising FM tuner with full RDS (Radio Data Service) functionality, no FM station will escape unheard. Available at the end of October / beginning of November 2003.
The audio connection to the outside world is, of course, both analog and digital - for both FM and DAB! In the DR 1000, the analog signals are quickly transformed into digital format, so that the same variety of stations is available for both the analog and digital optical outputs. One separate antenna input each for the digital and analog radio signals are located on the rear. By automatic regulation of the input sensitivity, the different signal strengths of FM and DAB are optimally equalized. No matter if it travels via cable or antenna, the sensitive radio signal finds its way. A controllable headphone output on the front for nighttime use rounds out the all-around talent.
Using the 40 station presets, you can access your choice of FM and DAB stations from a complete station list of up to 159 entries. A very few control panel elements are located on the front of the housing, where the endless dial for menu control has a central prominence. Those who value the retro feeling can, now as before, use this dial to cruise through the entire frequency spectrum. The slim HiFi component can, of course, also be controlled conveniently with the remote control. Thanks to RDS (Radio Data Service) and Dynamic Label, the display provides information about such important things in life as song title, station name, current date and time, as well as everything else the station chooses to transmit to its listeners using this service.
