Sharkoon has given the new Flexi-Drive XC a facelift: the variable USB stic
k and card reader combination device now has an even more practical design
and a faster data transfer rate. The Sharkoon Flexi-Drive XC+ functions simultaneously as a card reader and as a USB stick. The two-in-one data medium
reads and writes in Secure Digital and Multi Media Card formats as well as miniSD, microSD, MMCmicro, and MMCmobile formats with the use of an additional adapter. When connected to the PC as a card reader, the Flexi-Drive XC
+ allows different cards to be inserted and used without having to reboot.
By inserting a memory card, it is transformed into a USB stick with read and write access. The memory capacity can be varied arbitrarily according to
which flash card is used.

The Sharkoon Flexi-Drive XC+ measures 70 x 28.7 x 12 mm (w x h x d), making
it even smaller than its predecessor. Thanks to the new protective cover built into the translucent gray housing, inserting flash cards is reliably easy. A carrying strap connected to the housing prevents the protective cap
covering the USB connector from being lost, and the mini-carabiner hook on the end can be used to attach the card reader to a key ring, for example.

The device supports USB 2.0 with a transfer rate of 480 MBit/s. The data tr
ansfer rate for SD format cards can reach up to 18.5 MB/s and 11 MB/s for MMC format cards. Under Windows ME/2000/XP and Mac OS.9 and OS.X the Flexi-Drive functions using Plug&Play. Drivers for Win98SE are available for download at http://www.sharkoon.com. An instructional booklet is included in delivery.
