Altre informazioni su AMD-Apple
The Inquirer ha pubblicato un altro articolo riguardo il possibile passaggio di Apple a sistemi x86, anche grazie al nuovo OS-X.
The core of OS-X, code-named Darwin, includes a BSD license, and is at its core, BSD. I believe that Apple selected BSD over LINUX because of not only its BSDd versus GPL license, but because of its stability and uniformity. As Linux continues to evolve and get all the hype, the members of the BSD community, NetBSD and OpenBSD included, continue to deliver a more stable platform than both Microshaft and the Linux projects. Is it any indication of the strength of BSD considering Hotmail continues to run on FreeBSD?
Regardless of what Intel, AMD, Mot/IBM, Alpha, etc processors are developed, the BSD community will respond to support it. Already, many of the software applications available for BSD are easily installable using the ports collection. If Apple really wanted to get in on a market, they should make the next version of Darwin/Aqua out of the box compatible with the X-11 Windows system.
