Abit KR7A-RAID vs. MSI K7N420 Pro
VIAÂ’s KT266A was the better performer of the two bagging just about every test. The results were great and the competition between both the boards was very close, making for two great buys. The nForce had its advantages with the higher quality integrated components where as the KT266A makes up for its lack of integration with performance, and of course the low price. The idea behind integrated devices is to provide a cost effective solution whilst enabling the user to have an all in one solution e.g. Audio, Graphics, Network and so on. The nForce successfully integrates high quality sound, average graphics and good Network support. The problem I see is that the MSI board is selling for around $130 US on price watch. Where as KT266A boards are $70 US making it nearly half price. For $70 US you can score a GeForce2 Ti, and I donÂ’t have to tell you how much better that will be! Okay so what IÂ’m getting at is the nForce is too expensive. You can buy a better performing board for half the price and spend the money you save on a high quality sound or video card.
