The Inquirer ha confermato l'utilizzo da parte di AMD del nuovo packaging per i propri processori in formato retail comprensivo di dissipatore certificato con tanto di istruzioni di montaggio.

This is what AMD told its resellers: "The first new AMD Athlon™ XP PIB kits are now available. Each box contains one AMD Athlon™ XP processor, an installation guide including AMD’s warranty information and an approved heat-sink. http://www1.amd.com/athlon/config. Currently available models are: 1900+, 1800+ and 1700+".
But the plastic packaging won't displace the old packaging overnight. There are still quantities of the old stuff in the channel.

Now the only thing AMD needs to do is to change the colour of its processors to green. As we reported recently, it hopes to do that by the end of the year.
