XP per Hammer, già esiste!
Ormai è chiaro, Microsoft teme l'avanzata degli OS gratuiti in grado di supportare in maniera più reattiva le novità del mercato (soprattutto nuove architetture). Ed ecco che le voci dei giorni scorsi prendono più sostanza:
An INF file included with the software lists which files are in which folder for the X86-64 analogue of the IA-64 install disks.
The LAYOUT.INF file confirms the existence of an AMD64 version and install disks for the same.
That means that the port of XP to the Hammer platform is very much further along the way than anyone previously supposed.
The disks also show that there is a symbolic debugger for AMD64, Microsoft's code for the AMD processor, although we understand from the warez hounds that this is not included with the Itanium release
