SiS & Firewire, alcune notizie
SiS ha pubblicato alcune notizie sul nuovo chipset 745, dotato del supporto nativo all'interfaccia Firewire:
The 745 supports the AMD Athlon XP and the firm said its chip avoids the need for independent north/south bridge implementations for Firewire.
The 1394 host controller embedded in the 745 conforms to IEEE 1394/1395 and 1394A for the serial bus, at transfer rates of 100Mbit/s, 200Mbit/s and 400Mbit/s.
It is compatible with PCI 2.2 and PCI power management v1.2, said SIS
