Nvidia nForce 220
Nvidia presenterà verso Aprile il suo nuovo chipset nForce 220, caratterizzato dal supporto alle SDRAM.
Basandosi sulle SDRAM, tale soluzione avrà un costo notevolmente inferiore al precedente nForce 420.
Per il resto, il chipset avrà più o meno le stesse caratteristiche del nForce 420, ovvero doppio canale sulle ram e audio 5.1 integrato.
The chipset line lacks Nvidia’s exclusive twin bank memory configuration – a feature that allowed more bandwidth for data transmission through the 128-bit memory controller. While this is a diversion from the company’s other core logic chipsets, the nForce 220 series continues to share many of the same features – such as an integrated graphics core and the 5.1 Dolby digital system – but are cheaper and will thus attract more clients to develop related boards.
