Dopo l'accordo fra AMD e ATI, su molti siti specializzati sono circolate voci riguardanti una revoca della licenza della casa Canadese per la commercializzazione e la produzione da parte di Intel, ebbene la notizia è totalmente falsa e Ati ha tenuto a smentirla con forza.

Difatti come sottolinea Phil Eisler, SVP & GM, ATI Technologies Inc.: "There is no truth to the rumor that Intel has pulled ATI's chipset license.  We continue to ship Intel chipsets under license." e ancora Chris Hook, Head of Public Relations Europe, Middle East e Africa, ATI Technologies Inc: "We remain licensed to use any Intel patents which may be applicable to any of our products. We do not believe there is any action which Intel could legally take, either before or after the closing of this transaction, which would prevent us from continuing to sell our Intel-compatible chipsets to whomever we choose."
