I would like to explain why I choose to change companies, but I probably should not go into details. Obviously, I hope that AMD is a better place for me to work than Intel. I hope that, at AMD, I will be able to be part of a team building microprocessors that will be just as successful, financially, as the processors I have worked on in the past, most notably the Intel P6.
Obviously, although I am now an employee of AMD, this posting is personal, and does not reflect the position of AMD. In fact, I will probably seldom, if ever, post from my work account again. (I will only post from work on matters that can be considered part of my job.) I would like to participate in comp.arch again as I have in the past, but being employed by microprocessor vendors like AMD and Intel posting to comp.arch can be "sensitive" - not officially, but unofficial FUD of saying something wrong leads to a great deal of self censorship.
