Su The Inquirer si parla di Ottobre come mese di lancio per i successivi frequency-step di Athlon XP a 0.13 micron. In concomitanza con tale data si potrebbe vedere l'ormai tanto discusso bus a 333MHz DDR.

SOURCES AT SYSTEM INTEGRATORS tell us that AMD's next speed step, the 2400+, is unlikely to be released until October although whether the firm uses that occasion then to release a 333MHz front side bus (FSB) is still unclear.

In fact, it would seem to us that AMD would be far better off releasing its 2400+ to coincide with Intel's 2.80GHz, and then perhaps release its 2600+ a little later on. For a few months now, AMD appears to have lost the impetus on clock speeds – the leapfrogging seems to have come to a standstill.
