Ecco che è emerso qualche dettaglio in più sulla futura cpu AMD Athlon XP basata sul core Barton.
Il processo di produzione sarà a 0,13 micron con interconnessioni in rame, ma non utilizzerà il SOI (Silicon On Insulator).
Al momento tutta la produzione di cpu è concentrata a Dresda, mentre il Barton sembra che sarà prodotto da UMC.

Current Thoroughbred-B manufacturing continues at the Dresden FAB for AMD. There is no plan in place to outsource this product to a 3rd party manufacturer. Barton was supposed to be the part that UMC would produce in good quantities, but on a non-SOI based .13u Cu process. UMC's .13u process is apparently not up to spec with the job. Barton is scheduled to be released sometime this quarter, and all production as of now is located in Dresden.
