Aggiornamento BIOS MSI

Ho installato un processore SEMPRON64 3100 su una nuova scheda madre MSI K8T NEO-FSR V2.0; all'avvio però il processore non viene riconosciuto e mi compare un messaggio che invita ad effettuare l'update del BIOS. Ho letto le istuzioni solo che qualcosa non mi torna.
C'è scritto di creare un dischetto d'avvio. Il problema è che non mi fa l'avvio dal dischetto. Nemmeno riesco (premendo DEL) ad entrare nel BIOS. L'unica possibilità che mi da è quella di premere shift + f10 per il recovery flash bios se ricordo bene. Come devo procedere? grazie

Nessuno risponde?
Come si può fare l'upgrade del BIOS se non mi fa il boot dal floppy? La procedura indicata nelle istruzioni che ho trovato non spiega altre possibilità. L'unica maniera intuisco sia quella di utilizzare la procedura di recovery bios (premendo shift+F10) col Bios aggiornato. Infatti chiede il floppy. Però nelle indicazioni è altamente sconsigliato di effettuare l'aggiormamento dal floppy (WARNING!!!!!DON'T FLASH FROM A FLOPPY DISK!!!!)
Qualcuno può aiutarmi o non mi resta che portarlo all'assistenza?

BIOS Flash Procedure
1. Check your BIOS for BIOS FLASH PROTECTION and make sure it's DISABLED, some motherboards have this function.
For Example:
K7N420 Pro (MS-6373) – BIOS setup/Integrated Peripherals/BIOS Protect/Disabled
2. Find the exact model motherboard you have.
a. First check inside the motherboard bios, some motherboards, like the MS-7030, show the bios version in the bios, under Standard CMOS Features.
b. Open your case and look for the MS-XXXX number on the motherboard, using located between the PCI slots, also check the version number as well. (Some motherboards like the MS-6390 have different versions, in which each version uses a different bios)
c. Boot up your system & take a look at the top left screen during POST, you should see something like “W6390VMS v2.6 092903” This means the board is MS-6390 with BIOS version 2.6
Hint: Many systems run to fast, that you will not be able to see this line, you can either press “PAUSE” key or you can disable the “Quick Boot” & “Full Screen Logo” options in the BIOS.
3. Download the BIOS that match your motherboard model and version number. BIOS's can be found at this link, which are separated by CPU socket type (socket 775, socket 478, socket 754, socket A, and archives)
4. Extract the BIOS that you have downloaded by double click it and extract it to a blank formatted floppy disk.
5. Boot the system with a bootable floppy disk
a. A Windows 98/ME startup disk can be used
b. Or you can create an MS-DOS startup disk under Windows XP, to create an MS-DOS startup disk under Windows XP, right click on the 3 ½ floppy drive icon under my computer and select format. On the format dialog box, check the box next to “Create MS-DOS startup disk” and then click the start button to make a MS-DOS startup disk.
6 Once you boot off of the bootable floppy disk, replace the bootable floppy disk with the floppy disk containing the bios files.
7. At the A:\ prompt, you will type in the following command
a. A:\FLASHUTILITY BIOSFILE.VER
b. The flash utility will be the .EXE file included in the BIOS you downloaded. For example: ADSFI712.EXE = BIOS FLASH UTILITY
c. The BIOS file will end with the version number you downloaded. For example:
A6728ims.210 = BIOS file version 2.10
8. To update the BIOS using the example above you would type the following command.
a. A:\ADSFI712 A6728ims.210, then push the enter key.
b. Follow the onscreen prompts to update the BIOS.
9. DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER or RESET/REBOOT the SYSTEM before the BIOS update is completed, stopping the BIOS UPATE before it is completed will cause the system to become non-functional.
10. Reboot the system once the bios update has been completed.


se poi nn vuoi utilizzare il floppy carica i file (programma x flashare il bios e il bios vero proprio) nell'unità C:
avvia il pc tramite cd (cd di win98 o me) e dopo al posto di scrivere a: scrivi C:"il nome del programma" "il nome del file del bios con relativa estensione"

Grazie della risposta. Come ho scritto non posso fare il boot dal dischetto (e non possiedo il cdrom di win98 o me) perché quasi subito appare il messaggio "warning unknown CPU", "system halted".

Non posso utilizzare la procedura di recovery bios? Le istruzioni MSI dicono di:

1. rinominare il file bios desiderato (es: A6712VMS.190 come AMIBOOT.ROM)
2. salvare il file su un dischetto
3. "turn on the system and press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update"
4. "When 4 beeps are heard you may remove the floppy disk and restart the computer"

Potrei fare così?

se sul manuale c'è scritto così lo puoi fare tranquillamete
cmq se lo vuoi far partire dal floppy basta ke all'avvio premi il tasto f11

scusa ma nn puoi utilizzare il Live Update
ho il tuo manuale davanti e mi dice ke questo prog ti aggiorna il bios via win)

In realtà ho scoperto che la mia scheda madre chiamata K8T NEO-FSR è in realtà una K8T NEO-F (MS 6702 PCB 2). Sul sito della MICROSTAR è presente il BIOS per la versione MS 6702 PCB 1! E' specificato che quel BIOS non va bene per la versione PCB 2. Ho riportato allora la scheda madre dove l'ho acquistata, facendo notare la scorrettezza di vendere una scheda madre per un'altra. Loro hanno chiamato il distributore, il quale afferma che sono la stessa identica cosa e hanno inoltrato una email alla MICROSTAR per saperne qualcosa. In attesa che si degnino di una risposta (passeranno se va bene settimane) qualcuno sa dove è possibile trovare il BIOS aggiornato per la scheda madre MS 6702 PCB2? Grazie
