DFI today announced the release of INFINITY 975X/G with support for the next generation Intel® Conroe processors and ATI® CrossFire technology. The board’s Intel® 975X Express + ICH7 chipset offers supreme video experience for the hardcore gamer while delivering seamless performance handling simultaneous applications for multimedia entertainment and high-end computation programs.

The DFI INFINITY 975X/G is a versatile solution that is compatible with the latest Intel® processors, including Intel® Conroe processors. It supports Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep® Technology (EIST) to regulate and potentially lower power consumption, Intel® Hyper-Threading technology to significantly enhance video game effects, Intel® Extended Memory 64 Technology (Intel® EM64T) to improve the performance via access to additional memory, and Intel® Advanced Smart Cache technology to increase efficiency by reducing latency to frequently used data.
For faster refresh rates and enhanced video quality, the INFINITY 975X/G comes with two PCI Express x16 slots for users who want to play games using the ATI CrossFire platform. The dual graphic cards ATI CrossFire mode delivers faster performance with up to two times the frame rates of a single GPU, improving the experience of any 3D application.

Processor

Infinity 975X supports Intel's new generation Core2 (Conroe family) processor as well as EMT64T, EIST and Hyper-Threading technology。All Intel® Core2 processors are based on the Intel® 65nm process design that consist of circuits and transistors smaller than 90nm process。 Intel® Core Duo CPU also provides the latest Intel® Advanced Smart Cache and Intel® Smart Memory Access: a much powerful storage function to both cache and memory.
Digital PWM
DFI is the first company in the industry to use digital pulse width modulation (PWM) controllers on non-server motherboards; a 6-phase digital PWM controller is incorporated on the INFINITY 975X/G board. The benefits of digital PWMs include: lower power consumption, additional space on the board with the elimination of analog capacitors, and reduction of noise effects.
Six-layer PCB
DFI also upgraded its INFINITY series to a six-layer PCB. These special stacked layers on the INFINITY 975X/G reduce the signal disturbance and improve the speed of data processing.
eSATA
The INFINITY 975X/G supports the external SATA (eSATA) interface to deliver up to 6 times faster connectivity than existing USB 2.0 and IEEE1394 storage solutions. With eSATA, customers can use shielded cables and connectors up to 6 feet (2 meters) outside the PC for easier mobility. Moreover, eSATA supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 0+1 and RAID 5. The INFINITY 975X/G is equipped with 4 eSATA ports, with one port delivering speed of up to 3Gb/s.

A Variety of BIOS settings for OC

Similar to LANParty series, DFI's Infinity 975X/G provides the same OC tweaks in the BIOS for avid players。It's OC capability outperforms all previous Infinity series motherboards. DFI’s exclusive Genie BIOS comes with a bunch of tweaky BIOS options such as adjusting the CPU/DRAM/NB voltage, CPU/DRAM clock, etc.
