<blocknote><i>Fremont, CA, - December 2, 2002 - Tyan® today launched the Tachyon G9700 PRO, the newest graphics card to utilize the ATI® RADEON™ 9700 PRO Visual Processing Unit (VPU). AGP 8X compatible, the Tachyon G9700 PRO is a leading graphics accelerator designed with more powerful capabilities – hardware monitoring, overclocking, and temperature control through special cooling.

The Tachyon G9700 PRO is the only graphics card on the market with hardware monitoring. The Tyan Graphics Monitor is a user-friendly system monitoring utility that allows the user to monitor and regulate fan, voltage, and temperature.

In addition, the Tachyon G9700 PRO can be overclocked nearly up to 400MHz and 385MHz on average – the fastest speed available today. With the appropriate cooling, the graphics card can run cool and stable with memory speeds approaching the limits of today's DDR memory technology.

The Tachyon G9700 PRO also includes the technologies ATI has developed: SMOOTHVISION™ 2.0, SMARTSHADER™ 2.0, HYPERZ™ III, and TRUFORM™ 2.0, and 128-bit color. These features enable immersive cinematic quality games and realistic 3-D animation.

"Gamers, enthusiasts, and power users will highly appreciate the benefits of the Tachyon G9700 PRO and with full Linux support", stated Danny Hsu, Director of Sales and Marketing at Tyan. "Its features and capabilities prove that Tyan exceeds expectations in the gaming market."

"The Tachyon G9700 PRO is impressive in its features, performance, and has proven its innovation in its design," stated Matt Skynner, Director of Graphics Partner Marketing, at ATI. "We are pleased to collaborate with Tyan in the graphics cards venture."

Tyan has also released AGP 8X based motherboards that complement the Tachyon G9700 PRO for the ideal workstation, gaming, and multimedia package. The Trinity KT400 S2495 takes advantage of AMD®'s Athlon™ XP processor for high speed DDR memory. The Trinity i7205 S2662 offers Intel® Pentium® 4 with Hyper Threading processor and dual channel memory at 4.27GB per second. Finally, the Thunder i7505 S2665 is powered by dual Intel® Xeon™ processors, dual channel memory bandwidth, onboard Gigabit Ethernet and optional U320 SCSI support.</i></blocknote>
